Trends 2020

This slide show will provide the images from the trends researched for Spring 2020.

• The seven colors are those featured on the 2020 runway and reflected in the garments produced by commercial designers.
• The patterns are popular in 2020 clothing and replicated in fabric and garments.  
• Note the flow and diagonal lines of many of  the garments.  Much mixing of coordinate fabrics - florals and geometric patterns, dots (large, medium, small), gingham.  
• The Japanese knot bag is a popular shopping bag design that has various adaptations and can be interpreted in various fabrics.  Other types of bags are featured in 2020.

This slide show was presented with narrative to the Cedar Rapids Area chapter of  the American Sewing Guild.  Since the date of the presentation was 3-14 (National Pi Day) the final slides shared fabric that might coordinate well with creating - an apron, a potluck carrier, a table topper, or other item inspired by our favorite apple pie.
